Reducing file retrieval time for implementation of parallel downloading

(in English) The parallel downloading technology is expected to utilize broad bandwidth and fetch a file quickly retrieving each piece from a different server in parallel. We develop a proxy system combining the parallel downloading technology and the proxy server technology. We have already proposed an adaptive parallel downloading method, but it has not taken the downloading order or the requirement for the buffer space into account so much. In order to provide users with the required file in order as a byte stream, the proxy server should reorder the pieces fetched from multiple servers in a short period. We clarify the tradeoff relation between the buffering time and the redundant traffic for requesting some blocks again by conducting some practical experiments using the Internet.
