Partial Volume Correction in PET based on Segmented Brain MRI with Statistical Clustering and Morphological Filter

(in English) An algorithm for partial volume correction in PET images was proposed based on anatomical information extracted from a MRI brain image.
First, MRI T1 image was automaticaly segmented to gray matter, white matter, ahd CSF using its pixel values and mixture Gaussian model. Then, 3-dimensional morphological filter was applied. Next, PET and MRI images were registered onto each other. Finally, assuming mixture ratio of gray and white matter in neghboring pixels were same, the mixture ratio was estimated to correct partial volume effect.
Correct images were well maintained small structure, and they had good contrast.
