A Dynamic Method for Parallel File Transfer from Multiple Sites in Data Grid

(in English) This paper focuses parallel file transfer from multiple sites in Data Grids. We applied existing parallel file transfer methods to Data Grids and evaluated their performance by simulation. Simulation results showed that two mechanisms are effective. The first is site selection according to measured transfer rate. The second is block transfer in which a file is divided into blocks of fixed-size and each site transfers blocks of the number according to the transfer rate. It is also shown that some mechanisms included in existing parallel file transfer method are not effective in Data Grids.
