Design of coplanar waveguide duplexer with attenuation poles

(in English) We present the new design method of the coplanar wageguide (CPW) duplexer with high isolation characteristic, which is composed of transmitting (Tx) bandpass filter (BPF), receiving (Rx) BPF and T-branch line. For size reduction, we chose the meanderline CPW quarter-wavelength resonator BPF. We can design the frequency and number of the attenuation poles by modifying the meander radius and shape of the cross-coupling meanderline. Tx 2-pole BPF has center frequency=4.900GHz and bandwidth=30MHz, and 3-pole Rx BPF with 1 attenuation pole has center frequency=4.635GHz, bandwidth=100MHz. In order to suppress through Tx to Rx signal, the attenuation pole of the Rx BPF is sifted to the center frequency of the Tx band. So, the isolation through Tx to Rx is less than -120dB. We also designed and measured the frequency characteristics of the miniaturized CPW resonator (center frequency=10GHz, size=3 x 3mm) on the CMOS Chip (TSMC 0.35um BiCMOS process), in order to estimate the quality factor of the conductor.
