160Gbit/s/port, Variable Length, Asynchronous Optical Packet Switching with Packet BER and Loss Real-time Measurement

(in English) A novel packet bit error rate (BER) and loss real-time measurement method and system for 40Gbit/s variable-length packets is proposed. Packet BER and loss real-time measurement with various conditions is experimentally demonstrated by using proposed measurement system and optical packet switching (OPS) system. In real-time, only the payload data part of packet and burst stream with fluctuated packet interval time and packet length is evaluated. Packet BER and loss real-time measurement with 160Gbit/s variable-length OPS, OTDM-MUX/DEMUX, and preamble free 10Gbit/s optical packet 3R receiving are experimentally demonstrated.
