An Adaptive Scheme for Continuous Time Assessment of User-Level QoS in Audio-Video Transmission over IP Networks

(in English) This report proposes a scheme for continuous time assessment of user--level QoS in audio--video transmission over IP networks.For the assessment, we estimate user--level QoS by QoS mapping from application--level QoS with multiple regression analysis.The estimation with high accuracy requires us to choose an appropriate multiple regression line according to the content type of transmitted media and the monitor size of the receiver's terminal.In the experiment, we treat two monitor sizes and four contents whose types are two; and we assess user--level QoS continuously in time. By QoS mapping, we obtain the multiple regression line for each combination of the content and the monitor size. Then, with each regression line, user--level QoS for all the combinations is estimated. By investigating the errors of the estimated values, we show that the proposed method is effective if the regression line is appropriatly selected for the combinations.
