Development of Individual Identification System utilizing Time Series of Floor Pressure Distribution

(in English) This paper proposes an individual identification system utilizing the change of foot-floor contact area shape during walking. The distance between time-varying foot-floor contact area shapes is defined and used to
identify people whose time-varying foot-floor contact area shapes were registered beforehand as template data.
If the distance between input data and the template data is larger than a threshold, the system outputs such a result as there is an unknown person walking on the floor. As an experiment, an identification system is constructed based on the template data of five people and is evaluated by the test data of fifteen subjects including the five people who have been registered in this system. An identification performance of about 5% FAR(false acceptance rate) and about 10% FRR(false rejection rate) have been obtained.
