Macroscopic quantum tunneling in Bi2212 intrinsic Josephson junctions

(in English) It has been known that dissipation with quasi particles originated from the geometrical property of superconducting gap in high Tc superconductors may hinder the emergence of its quantum property. However, its successful observations have been reported recently. In this report, we show that the macroscopic quantum tunneling in Bi2212 intrinsic Josephson junctions. The critical temperature, at which quantum property emerges, is ten times higher than that of metallic superconductors. These results indicate the possibility for implementing qubits with high Tc superconductors.
