Recovery Oriented Computing -- High Available System using Failure Prediction --

(in English) University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University collaborate on Recovery Oriented Computing (ROC) and Reliable Adaptive Distributed Systems (RADS) projects. The purpose of ROC/RADS projects is to develop high available system architecture on assumption of existence of system failure caused by software bug and operator error. They aim to overcome the system failure using fast recovery and failure prediction technique. In this paper, I present overview of ROC/RADS projects and summary of fast recovery and failure prediction technique based on my participation in ROC/RADS projects in 2004-2005.
