Reduction Method of Radiated Emission with Signal Transformer
Yoshihiro Akeboshi, Seiichi Saito (Mitsubishi Electric Corp.) EMCJ2006-8
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In wire communication system, it is important to reduce common mode current and radiated emission from transmission lines. This paper describes measurement results of magnetic field strength and reveals the relations between the common mode current and equivalent device parameters of a signal transformer. As a result, two major causes of radiated emission and common mode current are, (1) coupling capacitance between primary and secondary windings of the transformer, and (2) coupling capacitance between transmission line of secondary side and ground. It is also shown that a bulun on the primary side of transformer is effective solution for reducing the radiated emissions.
