Subjective Evaluation of Multi-Channel Inverse Filter with Secondary Source Selection and Enhancement

In this paper, we propose a novel sound field reproduction system which can retain presentation of sound sources' directions of arrival even out of control points where a precise sound image is reproduced. Since the conventional design method of an inverse filter considers only the reproduction in a specific position, its sound image is defocused when a clistener shifts his/her position. To solve this problem, first, we decompose the signals to be reproduced into components of each primary sound source. Second, for each primary sound source we design an inverse filter in which a secondary source in a nearest direction to the primary source has the largest gain. The subjective evaluation shows that the proposed method is more robust against the listener's movement than the conventional inverse filter. |
