Optimality of Balanced Semi-Matchings

We consider the problem of finding a semi-matching for a bipartite graph $G = (U \cup V,E)$. A semi-matching is defined as a set of edges, $M \subseteq E$, such that cach vertex in $U$ is an endpoint of exactly one edge in $M$. In the past, the load-balancing semi-matching problem of obtaining a semi-matching such that the degrees of each $V$ vertex are balanced has been studied. While on the other hand, we newly formulate the min-weight load-balancing problem for weighted bipartite graphs and propose an algorithm. |
