An Investigation of Accuracy of the Type-M CIP Electromagnetic Field analysis

(in English) The authors have investigated the electromagnetic (EM) analysis using the Constrained Interpolation Profile (CIP) Method recently proposed by Yabe. The present study has examined the calculation accuracy of the EM field analysis using the type-M CIP method. We calculated the 2-D TE-wave propagation as an example of the multi-dimensional EM field analysis, and then investigated the accuracy by varying the time step and the wave-propagation direction. In addition, the comparison was made between the CIP, the FDTD and the theoritical results. In this paper we show the dependence on the time step and the propagation angle in the type-M CIP EM field analysis. Although the type-M CIP method has the merit of less memory than that of other types of CIP method, it might lower the accuracy to use a first-order upwind scheme to calculate derivatives of a perpendicular direction to the propagation direction. The results presented in this study seem to show the noticeable effect according to this feature of the type-M CIP method.
