Studies on spatio-temporal pattern dynamics have mainly focused on asymptotic behaviour of global configurations or patterns with fixed boundary conditions. However, for the purpose of detecting transient structure in the pattern dynamics, one needs indicators of stability for spatio-temporally local pattern.
In this research, finite patterns and their stabilities are defined on the framework of reversible cellular automata. A new viewpoint for the pattern dynamics derived from the definitions of the stabilities is also studied. |
