Organic materials of stepwise two-photon absorption were studied for the purpose of multilayered optical data storage. Oligothiophenes were chosen for the stepwise two-photon absorption molecule. Aryl azides were chosen to accept excited energy from oligothiophene and to react to cause diffraction change. For these molecules, the structures and the excited states were calculated by the density functional theory and some optical spectra were measured. A thin layer film containing these molecules was prepared and holographic efficiency was measured. It has been found that the efficiency of the media with oligothiophene and azide is higher than that of the diacetyl-based media. |
