A Study of Fault Detection Method for Large Scale Multicast Streaming Service

(in English) A content delivery service is growing with the popularization of the broadband access network. And the number of the live (broadcast) contents, such as baseball games and news program, is increasing recently. Because it is value to broadcast live programs in Real Time, delivery interruption has a marked effect to the audience.
So, we already proposed Time Shift service that network provider freeze virtually the program during network down time on be half of their customers, using content server's time-shift feature.
In this proposal, Remote Monitor (RM) is required to monitor whether the video stream can receive or not. But, because the install cost is very high and RM can not monitor the connectivity between user's equipment and edge router, we think the architecture is not acceptable in the market. Then in this paper, we propose another architecture that install Monitor Agent (MA) in the user's equipment and show the fault detection method using MA.
