A Study on OFDM Mobile Radio Transmission Scheme with Adaptive Guard Interval Length

(in English) In this paper, we proposed a convenient multipath delay estimation method for OFDM mobile radio and a novel OFDM transmission scheme with adaptive guard interval length (GI) based on the estimation method. The proposed estimation method gets the information about multipath delay spread as well as average bit error rate (BER) from the Q-ch detection output of a sub-carrier of OFDM signal, at the same time of information signal transmission without any other special signals. Using the information about delay spread and BER, the proposed OFDM transmission scheme adjusts adaptively the GI of the OFDM symbol, achieves high transmission quality and efficiency at the same time. The computer simulation confirms the effectiveness of the proposed method and scheme.
