It is required for the microwave power module (MPM), which can be used for many systems, to be broadband, small lightweight, high output power and high efficiency. It is expected that the MPM with these strong points will be used for some radar systems. We have developed miniature traveling wave tube (mini-TWT) for the MPM. The feature of the mini-TWT is RF output power of more than 1kW in the range of 2.5 to 3.6GHz, high overall efficiency of 60%, small size of 66mm(W) x 40mm(H) x 253mm(L) and lightweight of 690g. This paper described the developmental activities of the mini-TWT. |
