In 3GPP, study of Evolved UTRA and UTRAN is performed. In LTE, data transmission functions such as RLC-ARQ are located on a base station for shortening of a transmission delay. A base station receives user data in form of an IP packet from network and builds radio transmission block (TB) to send it to a mobile station. In this constitution, an IP packet cannot be assembled if a mobile station cannot receive one of the divided TBs definitely. As a result, the radio resource used for the other TB transmission becomes wasted. In this paper, we show a characteristic in the architecture of LTE in comparison with HSDPA and point out the factor that IP packet throughput deteriorates in this architecture. To overcome this problem we propose a scheduling algorithm based on a ratio of quantity of acknowledged data size of IP packet and perform the evaluation by software simulation. As a result, we confirmed that the proposed method gave high throughput than a Round Robin method. In addition, we evaluate an application domain of a Proportional Fairness method and the proposed method and show that an application of proposed method is desirable when movement speed of a mobile station is fast. |
