Infomation provision system using text-to-sign synthesizing system and its application

This paper describes a sign language synthesizing system and its application to information systems. We applied the system for an airport announcement system which provides information such as flight delays or boarding gate changes for audibly impaired passengers in sign language. We will discuss necessity and effectiveness of the system based on a field trial of the system at the Kobe airport. We also discuss some issues to be solved for better system. |
