A Japanese utterance training system using LMS

A Web-based utterance training system for Japanese, which equips an
automatic speech recognition and face image capturing, is constructed
in order to assist Japanese L2 learner.
Moodle, a popular open source LMS(Learning Management System), is used
as a management system of contents, student records,
as well as quiz.
Students can study at anytime, and obtain objective evaluation of her/his
own speech immediately.
The subjective evaluation experiment was done using 20 university
students in order to evaluate the teacher support function,
i.e. the teaching material management and the history management.
Moreover, subjective evaluation was conducted to 2 Japanese
teachers not only on teacher support funciton but also
effctiveness from educational point of view. |
