Low friction properties of a Self Assembled Monolayers(SAM)
on an Ag electroplated contact were investigted.
SAM made from octadecanethiol with a longer alkylchain showed
lower insertion force(40N) when compared to non SAM coated electroplated contacts(300N) and its electric contact resistance was not affected.
Testing was carried out to find SAM's friction coefficient for various contact types and its results revealed the application potential
to the manufacture of contact products. |
