(in English) Photonic crystal nanocavity laser is considered one of the best candidates for highly efficient ultra-low threshold lasers due to their small modal volume of the order of cubic wavelength and a high cavity quality factor. Pulse operation and continuous-wave (cw) operation with quantum well or dot gain material at low temperature have been reported. However, in spite of the great importance for practical applications, cw lasing at room temperature has not been achieved yet. In this contribution, we demonstrate room temperature continuous-wave laser operation at 1.3 m in a photonic crystal nanocavity with InAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dots by optical pumping.
