We propose a new navigation algorithm in emergency scenes of wireless sensor networks. The algorithm finds a safe and short path which could guide a user to the destination while avoiding danger zones. Traditional path finding algorithms are mainly categorized into greedy-based algorithms and flooding-based algorithms. However both algorithms have the possibility of performance degradation in terms of path length and communication cost
on peculiar forms of danger zones. In this paper, we propose a new path finding algorithm which tries to combine the advantages of greedy and flooding algorithms. The basic idea of the proposed method is to set
several checkpoints in the sensing field coverd by sensors, and it conducts parallel searchs passing the checkpoint to find the path. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by several simulations. The results indicate that the proposed method finds shorter path with lower communication cost compared with traditional algorithms. |
