A Proposal of a Rerouting Algorithm for Preempted Low Priority LSPs

(in English) In order to guarantee QoS (Quality of Service) for MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) networks,
DS-TE (MPLS DiffServ Traffic Engineering) is proposed. In this method, a new high priority LSP (Label Switched Path) may preempt established lower priority LSPs when the required bandwidth is unavailable. OSPF-TE (OSPF for Traffic Engineer-ing) is proposed to find rerouted path for the preempted LSP, but it consumes much processing times for this procedures. In DS-TE networks, because available bandwidth on each link can frequently change, it is very important to reduce the resetup time for preempted LSPs. This paper proposes a rerouting algorithm to find new paths by flooding packets over links with enough bandwidth. The path search time and message overhead are estimated to compare with OSPF-TE.
