Effect of RED based queuing control on VoIP networks with call admission control

(in English) The user of VoIP rapidly increases with the spreading of high speed networks in recent years. However, stability, fairness, flexibility, and manageability are highly required to the network if it is assumed to develop the VoIP networks as universal telephone service networks. IP network of best effort has not yet satisfied those requirements enough. It is necessary to control of each call (session) for providing the stable audio conversation service as public service by the VoIP technology. RED based queuing technologies have been proposed in consideration of improving TCP traffic fairness so far. This paper discusses effects of introducing RED based queuing technologies to VoIP network based on UDP and also relation to the Call Admission Control.
