Segmentation of Color Images Using Anisotropic Diffusion with Dynamic Morphology

In this paper, we propose the extension of the anisotropic diffusion algorithm with dynamic morphological filter to color images as a pre-processing of perceptual image segmentation. The proposed method provides the better edge-preserving smoothed images than the conventional methods for noisy color images. By using the smoothed color features from the pre-processed image and the statistical geometrical features from an original image, it is expected to obtain rough segmentation of texture regions while maintaining accurate segmentation of the edge parts of man-made objects. We experimentally show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison
with the other methods. |
