Configuration of SDMA Base Station Antenna suitable for Space Division in Urban Area

(in English) SDMA has been expected for improving the frequency utilization efficiency in mobile communications．In the system，the communication quality is deteriorated when the user terminals close to each other because the signals from each user terminal can not be separated by directional pattern in that situation．In this report，the SINR value in a SDMA system which can be obtained at both user terminals is evaluated to make the possibility of simultaneous communication in multi-path environment clear．It was shown through computer simulation that the expected SINR value in case of SDMA was lower than that of 1 user case about 1 to 5 dB．It was also shown that the simultaneous communication could be realized using 3-element array base station if the base station was attached at high location．Moreover，it was indicated that the base station antenna should be located higher position that the height of surrounding buildings．
