Generally, identification of Legionella spp. spends more than a week. A method for rapid detection is therefore required to restrict the increasing range of legionellosis and to control Legionella spp.. From these background, we conducted a newly genetic detection system using a metal-coated flat sheet (MCFS) membrane for Legionella spp..
This method succeeded to detect Legionella spp. from hot spring water, and the time required for bacterial identification was shortened to four hours. Therewith, we could confirm efficacy by the study on the detection ability and comparison of detection methods by colony isolation and this method. |
