Despite the tremendous research efforts in medical imaging over the last three decades, their impact on clinical practice is, in our opinion, still insufficient. This results from a gap existing between the clinical and medical imaging communities. Our attempt to bridge this gap in neuroimaging is to make neuroimage processing rapid, robust, accurate and automatic. To meet these requirements our solutions apply a combination of image processing and analysis techniques, domain knowledge including brain atlases, radiological properties, and variability. This paper illustrates some of these solutions and shares our experience. |
