Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents a prediction formula for low antenna height propagation loss on line-of-sight (LOS) straight road with an intersection by regression analyses, for the purpose of propagation loss characteristic modeling in inter-vehicle communication. The propagation loss data for regression analysis are generated by computer simulation based on the geometrical optics theory, and the formula is established as a dual-slope model and functioned by propagation distance, frequency, road width, and antenna height. In this analysis, the position of breakpoint is determined by evaluating the minimum RMS error on both slope regions, since its determination is an important factor for good prediction accuracy. The comparison between predicted and measured propagation losses is also done in 2GHz and 5GHz bands, and the effectiveness of the formula is confirmed by evaluating the prediction errors.
