Volume Analysis of left ventricle and peripheral regions from the temporal series of 3D MR Images

It is valuable to examine temporal series of cardiac images for motion analysis of heart. The goal of our research is the analysis of heartbeat from the temporal series of three-dimensional (3D) MRI. In this report, we assess the temporal change of volume of the left ventricle and peripheral regions such as left atrium, pulmonary veins, and aorta. In these regions, the connection and disconnection with each other occurs in response to the opening and closure of valves.
Results of the volumetric change of these regions extracted from temporal series of 3D MRI using Region-based Contour tree (RBCT) are shown. |
