In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for motion tracking of the left ventricular myocardium in echocardiogram. The proposed algorithm employs a modified version of the correlation method where ROIs are connected each other by elastic links. In our method, an ultrasonic RF signal captures the motion of left ventricular myocardium on one heartbeat. The signal is digitized with high spatial resolution. The motion of myocardium is detected and tracked by the proposed method. The experimental results with clinical subjects show that the performance of the proposed method is empirically superior to the conventional methods. |
