(in English) The Engineering Test Satellite VIII “Kiku No.8 (ETS-VIII)” will be launch at Dec.16. Feature of this satellite is one of the world’s largest geostationary satellites and its purpose is mobile communication support. As one of the use experiments of this satellite, we are scheduling the network operation that combines ad-hoc and the satellite link. In this paper,basic experiment (ping, TCP/UDP throughput, VoIP) results using satellite link simulator are reported and efficient of satellite link for mobile communications are discussed.
