While several kinds of optical fiber sensors have been developed to measure various physical parameters such as strain, temperature, and stress, fiber-based vibration sensors haven’t been successfully demonstrated so much. In our former work, a distributed vibration sensing system using a two-mode optical fiber has been proposed based on low coherence intereferometer and mode coupling between LP01 and LP11 modes induced by periodic perturbation on the fiber. In this paper, we propose the method for suppressing the multi-path effect, the cause of some ghost signals, and experimentally demonstrate the detection of multi-point vibration. |
