Performance Comparison between Channel-Bonding and Multi-Channel Techniques in Wireless CSMA/CA Networks

(in English) In wireless ad hoc networks, each node should autonomously and distributedly communicate with other nodes, thus the access control technique that can achieve highly efficient packet transmissions by avoiding packet collisions is necessary. Meanwhile, channel-bonding and multi-channel techniques are being discussed as wideband access control techniques in recent years. Thus in this paper, the performances of these two techniques in distributed wireless communication systems are evaluated by theoretical analysis and computer simulation. Our numerical and simulation results indicate that under low-traffic conditions, the channel-bonding technique achieves a low delay, while under high-traffic conditions, the performances of both throughput and delay can be improved by using the multi-channel technique.
