A state-dependent type allocation of QoS class to inter-domain paths with guaranteed QoS
Nagao Ogino, Hajime Nakamura (KDDI R&D Labs.) IN2006-222
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) MPLS path technology is a promising approach to realize reliable IP networks. Real-time services through multi-domain MPLS networks require guaranteeing end-to-end QoS of inter-domain paths. Thus, it is important to allocate an appropriate QoS class to the inter-domain paths in each domain that the inter-domain paths traverse. In this paper, various QoS class allocation schemes are evaluated assuming that the arriving inter-domain path requests include number of domains and remaining QoS value to the destination domain. A state-dependent type allocation scheme based on measurement of the arrival rate of inter-domain path requests and the loss rate of inter-domain paths in the downstream domains is proposed. Results of the computer simulation show effectiveness of the proposed state-dependent type allocation scheme.
