The high-speed high-resolution ADC is a key device for the next-generation wireless systems. The digital background calibration technique proposed by UC Berkeley [1] is expected to reduce the total power consumption of such high-performance ADC’s significantly compared with the conventional approach. However, the required time for convergence in this calibration is too long to adopt it in the actual wireless applications. Motivated by the above, the authors have proposed a novel fast calibration method based on the Berkeley technique and have verified its effectiveness by the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation. |
