Estimation of Learner's Property Using Bayesian networks in e-Learning System

In this paper, we propose a method to construct learner model using Bayesian network which is suitable for modeling complicated and uncertain relationship between learner’s properties (personality, eagerness and understanding level) and learner’s activity indices observed while learning. When we use self-learning style system, such as WBT (Web Based Training) system, it is very important for the system to estimate the learner’s properties and to provide adequate educational material or learning navigation accordingly. We prepared an actual WBT system and gathered learner’s data. Learner’s models were constructed using actual data. From the result of comparison experiments, accuracy of proposed method is better than that of conventional method. |
