The computational cost reduction in the Method of Moments (MoM) is proposed in terms of the locality principle which is the concept of the high frequency approximation techniques. In terms of locality, this article is focused in two types; the first is related with the currents such as the Physical Optics (PO) and the other for the fields like the Geometrical Theory of Diffraction (GTD). Former locality leads to the novel criterion of the switching between the PO region and the MoM region in the PO-MoM hybrid method, which is based upon the Fresnel zone number. By the use of the later locality, the scattering field is given by solving the currents not on the entire region but on the local areas which correspond near the inner and edge stationary phase points as is defined in the GTD. Finally, hybrid method utilized each proposed locality properties which increases effectiveness due to complement each other. |
