Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We propose a free-viewpoint imaging algorithm that uses only sparsely-located cameras and can be employedd in the complicated environment such as a commonplace office room. In our algorithm, a free-viewpoint image is generated from multiple image patches obtained by dividing observed images. The quality of the generated image strongly depends on how to divide the observed images into the image patches. In an incorrect region in the generated image, a big difference appears if the image patches are projected onto this region from the images observed by different cameras. With this property, the incorrect regions can be detected. These image patchs are then re-divided so that the divided patches can generate a correct and inartificial image. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our algorithm by generating free-viewpoint images in an office room.
