Fusion of ART and SOM and its engineering application potential

This paper considers fusion of Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) and Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) network and its engineering application potential.
First, the input-space is divied by Radial-Basis ART network. Second, a 1-Dimetional growing SOM is allocated in each input-subspace and the SOM is grown by learning algorthm.
Third, an input is corresponded to a city location. Connecting all the SOMs at some appropriate time, we obtain the tour. We analyze basic learning characteristics for a system parameter. |
