番組シーンとオブジェクトの重要度を考慮した視聴端末適応型画面再構成システム

多様な視聴者嗜好や視聴環境に応じて放送番組の変換提示を行う視聴環境適応型放送サービス（AdapTV）を提案し研究している．現在，ハイビジョンテレビから携帯電話までさまざまな視聴端末が存在するが，それぞれの端末に対して見やすい番組を放送局が個別に制作するのは困難である．そこで，AdapTVアプリケーションの一例として，視聴者環境に応じて放送映像の画面を再構成する提示手法を提案する．本手法は，ディスプレイ解像度を記述した視聴端末プロファイルに加えて，放送番組に登場するシーンやオブジェクトの関連情報を記述したメタデータ，視聴者の嗜好情報を記述したプロファイルを利用する．これらの情報とAdapTV知識ベースの変換規則を基に，視認性の改善，番組制作者の意図と視聴者の嗜好への対応を目的とした放送映像の画面再構成を行う．本稿では，提案手法の概要および提案手法に基づいて動作するシステムの試作・実験について報告する． |

AdapTV services has been proposed to present TV programs in various forms depending on a viewer’s context, such as circumstances, abilities and devices. In recent years, a variety of broadcasting receiving terminals such as a high-definition TV and a portable terminal has been introduced. However, it is difficult for a TV station to produce easy viewable contents individually according to them. This paper describes the terminal-adaptive screen recomposition system as an application of the AdapTV. The proposed system converts contents based on rules in the AdapTV knowledge base, using the metadata including the information of scenes and objects of TV programs, and the viewer’s context including their interests, as well as the terminal display resolution. By doing so, the system can improve a level of visibility, respond to expressive intention and viewer’s needs. In addition, this paper also describes the result of the experiment with a prototype system based on the proposal technique. |
