Optimization of Compact MIMO Terminal Antenna Employing Yagi-Uda Array with Common Director Elements

(in English) The required terms for the MIMO terminal antenna are: being small, having a high SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) and low spatial-correlation property. This report proposes the compact MIMO terminal antenna employing Yagi-Uda array with common director. Fairly small configuration and high average gain in the horizontal plane can be obtained by means of two facing Yagi-Uda array sharing the director elements even when this antenna is applied to the small terminal. The combination of orthogonally polarized array allows doubling the number of the ports up to four. The effectiveness of the proposed antenna was verified based on the raytracing analysis. Thanks to the parasitic antennas, the channel capacity enhancement more than 30% is observed under the Multi-User (MU) MIMO environment.
