Balun-Integrated 3-Stacked Meander Line Antenna

(in English) A balun is indispensable to connect balanced antenna with single-end devices. If we design only small balanced antenna, we cannot obtain the desired characteristics since the characteristics of balun and feeding line are not reflected in the simulation. We used a microstrip feeding dipole antenna so that we can design a small balun. This balun can be fabricated in a dielectric multi layer substrate and connected it with coplanar waveguide. At 0.1λ of the length of the antenna, the realized gain of -0.13dBi, the fractional bandwidth of 1.4%, and the radiation efficiency of 62% were obtained.
