We propose a radio-wave shutter, which can switch electronically transparent state and shield state, using the mechanism of an electrically invisible dipole, and investigate its basic performance. Metal wires loaded with varactor diodes with the interval of quarter of a desired frequency wavelength are arranged parallel to one another. By controlling the capacitance values of the varactors by DC voltage, the reactance values at the reactor-loaded points are varied. When the impedance is controlled to 0 ohm, current can flow on the wire freely and the radio-wave parallel to the wires is shielded. When the reactance value corresponding to the electrically invisible dipole and a large impedance value are arranged in turns, the current direction is reversed so as to diminish the current integral. Consequently, the radio-wave of a desired frequency permeates the film. |
