For development of sensor network technology, it is desired to provide attractive application services so that we can recognize sensor network systems as an indispensable information infrastructure in our daily life. Since such services are discovered through a lot of try-and-error application developments, a testing environment in which many application developers can implement their new ideas will be important. This means we need easy-to-deploy sensor networks (deployment scalable sensor networks) that enable us to build any application system in any environment. This paper describes technical challenges to develop such sensor networks as well as several practical approaches studied in our laboratories. |
