Theoretical Analysis of Relationship between Signal-Detctability and System Condition of Flat-Panel Detector

(in English) This paper deals with theoretical analysis of the relationships between signal-detectability of images using the indirect Flat-Panel Detector system and the system condition. A one-dimensional model is presented to evaluate the theoretical detectability of images. The ensemble average and variance of the light energy distribution at the individual detector of the system are obtained by using this model. The theoretical detectability was evaluated by use of the value that was defined by the ensemble average and variance. To investigate the influence of the parameters of the system on the detectability, numerical examples were shown. To evaluate the visual detectability of images by a human observer, computer-generated signal-contained images were used. In a comparison between the theoretical and visual detectability, it was found that the visual detectability is in good agreement with the theoretical detectability.
