Kerr-lens mode-locking of a LD-pumped ultrashort pulse Yb:YAG laser

(in English) A diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:YAG laser has been developed for miniaturization and efficient operation. Kerr medium and gain medium were separated for highly efficient oscillation and mode-locking stabilization. We aimed at 1050 nm oscillation to generate ultra-short pulse. Yb:YAG was inserted to the laser cavity as a 1030 nm absorption filter and Kerr medium. As a result, an efficient optical to optical efficiency of 14 % has been achieved at 57 MHz repetition rate for the incident pump power. Average output power and pulse width ware 210 fs (sech2) and 360 mW, respectively.
