BLIND CHANNEL SHORTENING FOR ZERO-PADDED BLOCK TRANSMISSION

(in English) In block transmission systems, when a channel impulse response is longer than guard interval length, there is a performance degradation due to inter-block interference .
In this case, channel shortening using a time-domain equalizer is effective.
In this paper, we propose a channel shortening method for zero-padded block transmission systems and show that the interference can be removed completely even in the presence of noise.
However, the proposed method has the possibility of low filter output signal-to-interference-and-noise-ratio.
Thus, we propose an improved method based on the constrained minimization of output variance.
Simulation results show the effectiveness of proposed method and improved method.
